Key Implications

  • The case shows how one moment can turn a celebration into a disaster.

  • Even respected community members can face serious legal consequences if involved in dangerous actions.

  • The number and seriousness of the charges suggest a major ongoing investigation.

The Legal Response

Assistant Chief Constable Jenny Sims from Merseyside Police said her team is working around the clock to gather evidence. Investigators are reviewing CCTV, mobile phone footage, business cameras, and dashcams. Witness statements are also being collected.

Sarah Hammond, Chief Crown Prosecutor for the region, confirmed the charges are based on the evidence so far, but may be updated as the investigation continues. The focus, she said, is to make sure every victim gets the justice they deserve.

Neighbours told reporters they were in “disbelief” and never imagined someone like Doyle could be involved in something so serious.
